Small daily moments can lead to significant water waste often without us noticing. KAUST is supporting ‘The Moment Makes a Difference’ water efficiency and conservation awareness campaign, which encourages the mindful use of water at work, at home and across community spaces.
The message is simple, everyday actions matter! Leaving taps running, taking longer showers, running half-empty dishwashers, watering at the wrong time, washing cars without efficient tools or delaying leak reports can all contribute to unnecessary water consumption.
Key water-saving reminders
- Leaving the tap open while brushing teeth wastes more than 5 liters every minute
- Every minute of showering consumes up to 9.5 liters of water
- Delaying the reporting of water leaks wastes tens of liters every day
- Running the dishwasher only when full saves 30% water every time
- Watering at the right time with efficient tools saves more than 70% of water
- Using a smart pressure washer for car cleaning saves up to 80% of water
