Campus and Community (C&C) is pleased to announce the opening of new parking areas in front of King Abdullah Grand Mosque and a new one-way system within the Harbor area, with the objective of facilitating access to the heart of our community.
These upgrades aim to improve convenience and accessibility for community members visiting the area.
Opening Date: Sunday, August 10
Diagonal Parking in front of Grand Mosque
The new parking places made available in front of King Abdullah Grand Mosque are constructed in a diagonal configuration, enabling an increase of 10 additional spaces compared to the previous setup.
New One-Way Traffic System in the Harbor Area
The one-way system into Harbor will lead community members to the Harbor Library, with a return way. Please observe the below when accessing the area:
- Entry point: Use the access road closest to the Canal (see below image for reference).

- Speed limit: The maximum speed is 20 km/h.
- Road safety: Do not cross the solid yellow line with your vehicle; it separates pedestrian pathways from vehicle lanes.
All vehicles—including micro-mobility devices—must adhere to road markings and traffic signs - Designated parking & drop-off: Parking is only allowed in the marked areas outlined in the image below and is limited to 1 hour maximum.

- A pickup/drop-off zone is available between Harbor Library and Harbor Square. Please note: no parking is permitted in this area at any time.
- Safety reminder: Please drive carefully, especially when reversing. Be aware of pedestrians and young children in the area. Thank you for Keeping KAUST Safe.
These improvements are part of C&C’s ongoing efforts to enhance mobility, accessibility, and community life at KAUST—whether you’re visiting the mosque, enjoying the waterfront, shopping, or dining at Harbor Walk.
