KAUST Turbulence Workshop: Outstanding Challenges in Wall Turbulence and Lessons to Be Learned from Pipes

This workshop represents a platform dedicated to discussing the complexities of wall turbulence, a pivotal topic in fluid mechanics with significant implications across various engineering and scientific disciplines. The focus on wall turbulence, particularly insights gleaned from pipe flow studies, underscores the workshop’s alignment with some of the most pressing and arising challenges in this discipline.

Our objective is to create a vibrant forum where researchers, practitioners, and experts can converge to share new research, innovative methodologies, and practical experiences. The workshop will feature a blend of numerical explorations, experimental efforts, and theoretical studies, highlighting the latest advancements in understanding and manipulating turbulent flows near boundaries.

Key topics will include the dynamics of turbulent boundary layers, the role of wall turbulence in applications, advancements in computational and experimental techniques, the implication of scaling laws, and lessons that can be drawn from pipe flow studies. This event is a great opportunity for attendees to engage with the forefront of turbulence research, exchange ideas, and forge collaborative relationships.
