KAUST prioritizes health, safety and environmental protection for its community, expecting all members to adhere to policies to mitigate risks. The University promotes global environmental research and responsible operations. KAUST’s Health, Safety and Environment Department (HSE) ensures campus and lab safety through policies, training and investigations, supporting researchers in compliance and safe practices. HSE in collaboration with researchers monitor and report safety issues, emphasizing a proactive approach to safety standards.
Lab Safety Awareness Week, promoted annually by the Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA), highlights laboratory health and safety achievements, fostering a culture of safety and well-being for faculty, staff and students involved in scientific research. The events during this week encourage collective efforts to maintain a secure and responsible scientific community.
In alignment with CSHEMA’s initiative, HSE encourages the research community to take part in promoting a safety culture in research activities by reviewing and discussing the content in the following posters.
