 Day 1: Sunday, January 7, 2024

Opening night

Celebrate the opening of WEP 2024 with a keynote lecture by Ian Campbell VP of Innovation and Executive Director of Special Projects and Athar-East to West team led by Professor Matteo Parsani and a musical performance by the Office of the Arts, followed by a reception.

Day 2: Monday, January 8, 2024

  • Distinguished lecture | Emergency location service at Google by Mohammed Khider

    In this lecture Khider will cover how Emergency Location Service in Android is accurate.
  • Keybote | AI; Robot; cloud and digital twin technologies for the new world by Sangok Seok
    Auditorium Building 20, join in person or watch online, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    The future technologies that have stayed in research are now increasingly moving into our lives. This lecture will address its prospects and the challenges we face today. 

Day 3: Tuesday, January 9, 2024

  • Panel discussion | AI and machine learning in health

  • Keynote | Sustainable management of soil health and agriculture for addressing global issues of the 21st century by Rattan Lal

    This lecture focuses on sustainably managing soil health and agriculture to tackle 21st-century global challenges. It covers strategies to address issues like food security, environmental degradation, and the impact of agriculture on climate change through innovative practices and technologies.

Day 4: Wednesday, January 10, 2024

  • Distinguished lecture| Digital intelligent metasurfaces by Cheng-Wei Qiu

    In this lecture, Prof. Cheng-Wei Qiu will further demonstrate how such a programmable metasurface could fuse with machine learning and human brain control. 

Day 5: Thursday, January 11, 2024

  • Distinguished lecture | China’s economic sequel: Role of technological innovations in shaping the future by Eric Li

    In this lecture, Dr. Li will discuss the trends and opportunities related to business in Saudi Arabia and the international arena.
