Dyslexia Awareness Week
October 2-8 2023

We are now counting down to Dyslexia Awareness Week. This is the week in the year where we go even further to help people understand what dyslexia is, that there is effective support available and to explain the up- and down-sides of having dyslexia. If you can join us or get involved, we would love to see and hear from you!

As part of the week, at the Family and Child Support Center (FCSC) screening for Dyslexia risk will be available to the community. Contact the FCSC team to book a screening slot now and see below for more details.

Monday, October 2

The Beacon will be lit red in support of Dyslexia awareness

Tuesday, October 3

Dyslexia Awareness Campaign at the Campus Diner including handouts, cupcakes and cookies will be available between 11:30 a.m. – 13:00 p.m.

Wednesday, October 4

Dyslexia Awareness Campaign and activities at the KAUST Daycare (ECC2) from 7:30 a.m.

Thursday, October 5

Movie screening at the FCSC of Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters at 17:30 p.m. Register here

Sunday, October 8

The Beacon will be lit red to symbolize the end of Dyslexia awareness week.

Dyslexia Screening at the FCSC

Date: October 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 , 2023
Age range: 5 years to 17 years of age
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 5.30 p.m.
Venue: Family and Child Support Center, ECC-3
Outcome: Identifies risk of dyslexia but does not diagnose dyslexia
Cost: 500 Riyals during this week (includes assessment + report + 30 min feedback session)
