Learn or improve your Arabic with the Community Arabic Program

If you’re interested in learning Arabic, the Community Arabic Program offers a range of options to choose from. These include Kids and Adult Arabic Classes, as well as a Conversational Arabic Café. To find the program that’s right for you, take a look at the details provided below.

Kids Arabic Classes

The Community Arabic Program for Kids is now open for registration. The program provides children with an enriching Arabic learning experience through creative learning methods and is tailored to provide young children with an enjoyable and informative learning experience. 

This program is aimed at children from Grade 1 to Grade 4 and can be taken as a stand-alone class or with the KAUST Children’s Center after-school program. 

The program has two options. The first option is dedicated to non-native Arabic speakers and aims to introduce kids in the community to the Arabic language and focuses on day-to-day conversations. 

The second option is for kids of native Arabic speakers and focuses on Arabic reading and writing skills. The program is tailored to teach common conversation phrases and basic writing. We will be using the Ministry of Education textbook لغتي for this term.  

How do registrations and classes work?

  • The classes will run from August 22 to October 11 
  • Classes for non-native speakers are conducted twice a week for 30 minutes each. (4:30 to 5:00 p.m. | Monday and Wednesday) 
  • Classes for native Arabic speakers are conducted twice a week for 45 minutes each. (4:30 to 5:15 p.m. | Sunday and Tuesday) 
  • Spaces are limited. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Program fees

  • Classes for non-native speakers – 644 SAR for seven weeks (14 classes) 
  • Classes for Arabic native speakers – 805 SAR for seven weeks (14 classes) 
  • Payment must be completed before August 20 to confirm registration. Payments are accepted at the Harbor Sports Club Reception. 
  • All classes take place at ECC3 – here’s a map. 

Register for kids’ classes

For registrations, please fill out the registration form below. Upon receiving enrollment confirmation, please complete the payment at the Harbor Sports Club (HSC) before August 20 to confirm registration. 

The exact class timings are reflected in the registration form. 

Note: There will be no classes on September 24 & 25. (Saudi National Day Holiday) 

Arabic Classes for Adults

Registration is now open for the Community Arabic Program, a five-week course that aims to introduce expat community members to the rich language and culture of Saudi Arabia.  The program includes four levels of conversation courses, and two reading and writing courses for beginner and intermediate levels.   

By the end of the program, students will be able to participate in simple conversations in Arabic and build relationships with Arabic speakers around them. 

How do registrations and classes work?

  • 90-minutes classes are conducted twice a week from September 3 to October 9 
  • Available sessions and timings are in the registration form. 
  • All classes are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  • The program fee is 690 SAR for 5 weeks (10 classes). 
  • Payment is required before August 30 to attend the classes. Payments are accepted at the Harbor Sports Club Reception. 
  • The classes will take place at ECC3 –  here’s a map. 

Register for adult classes

To register, please fill out the below registration form by August 30. The exact program timings are reflected in the registration form.

Arabic Language Café 

The Arabic Café is a weekly gathering to practice Arabic and discuss different topics of interest. Designed for intermediate or advanced level students, the Arabic Café will also focus on improving reading skills by using suitable Arabic books for intermediate and advanced levels this year. These books will be given to the students to keep and use during the whole term.   

The sessions will be held once a week and will take place at various locations, including the Alkhozama Hotel Lobby to keep these sessions lively and interesting. 

How do registrations and classes work?

  • Classes meet once a week for 90 minutes from August 22 to Sept 19 
  • Registration is offered on a first-come, first-served basis 
  • The cost for the program is 460 SAR for five weeks 
  • Payment is due by August 20 and is accepted at the Harbor Sports Club (HSC) Reception.
